Hardware Kits 3096 and 3119
Our P16PRO hardware kits 3096 and
3119 can be used with either the
P16PRO DOS or PICALLW Windows
software detailed below. This software is now available as FREEWARE and
no licence fee is payable when used with our P16PRO hardware.
P16PRO Programming Errors?
If you are experiencing programming problems or errors the
MOST likely reason is that you are using the older unregistered
SHAREWARE version
of the software limited to programming the first 256 bytes of data. The
solution is to simply download and use

(or later).
PICALLW Windows Software
| The PICALLW Windows version is now the best choice
of software for use with our kits
3096 and 3119 (P16PRO
Hardware). PICALLW is the version that the software writer is now
putting all his development efforts into.
You will only get full functionality from the Windows PICALLW
software when used with kits 3096/3119 if you register it. You will
then receive the full working version that has no program space
limitation or nag screens.
Once you are a registered user you can download free lifetime
updates from our website free of charge.
PICALLW software works under windows 3.1x, windows 9x, Millennium
(ME), Windows NT/ Windows 2000 / XP.

N.B. Windows PICALLW
software is also used by our
3117
or 3144 programmers (PICALL Hardware). When
used with
3117
or 3144, the PICALLW software automatically
operates as the fully registered version (registration fee is included
in the price of the kit).

or 3144 hardware also allows additional devices

P16PRO DOS Software
This low cost DOS software version is suitable for use with
our kits 3096 and 3119
(P16PRO Hardware).
You will only get full functionality from your P16PRO DOS
software if you register it. You will then receive the full working version
that has no program space limitation or nag screens. You can download the
latest version from our website free of charge.
P16PRO DOS will work under DOS, windows 3.1x,
windows 9x and Millennium (ME).
Development of DOS version is for now
freezed. The DOS version does not fully support
PIC16F7x PICs.

Alternative Software Options for 3096 and 3119
It is also possible to use kits 3096 and 3119 with most David Tait compatible
driver programs. You can try the
David Tait software to drive the programmer.
You will need to set the environment variable PPSETUP to "2"
i.e. type at the DOS prompt the following:
SET PPSETUP=2
Please refer to the text files included in
the zip file for help with this software. We offer no technical support.
This software will only program 16x8x devices.
