You can download these free programs
for use with our range of ATMEL programmers.
-
Hexmap.exe and reorder.exe are two DOS utilities that allow you
to examine and reorder fragmented hex files which some compilers produce.
Fragmented hex files can choke any serial programming software not expecting
it.
-
Term.zip is a no frills terminal program written to program Kits
3121, 3122 and 3123. It is easier than using HyperTerminal. DOS based
but will run under W9x.
- Please see our Help Page
for basic information on using these programmers.

| ATMEL microcomputer chips have been around
for some time now and like the PIC chips it took people some time to realize
their full potential. Unlike PICs, the ATMEL devices require no special
programming knowledge other than a rudimentary understanding of BASIC. So
they throw open the doors to a much wider range of potential users. They
have relatively few input/output lines, a limited instruction set and with
almost no peripherals they are well suited for control applications. These
programmers can be used with ANY computer and operating system and do NOT
require special software other than a terminal emulator program (built into
Windows as Terminal or HyperTerminal). See also
free programs below.
Quasar Electronics offers a comprehensive range of ATMEL programming
hardware and
software options to
for the ATMEL range.
To create a project you simply:
- Write the program in BASIC
- Compile the program using
BASCOM
- Test the results with the integrated simulator
- Program the target microcontroller
