3174 - Serial Output RF Computer Data Link Receiver

3174 is a uni-directional Serial Output RF Computer Data Link Receiver that will receive any messages sent by our optional RF transmitter boards 3173 (serial port) or 3175 (parallel port) and output the data via its serial port.

The data format is fixed at 8N1 (8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit). The data rate is selectable between 2400 and 9600 baud. An optional carriage return/line feed can be appended to the output.

When used with the 3173 you can think of them as a wireless serial cable that works via RF. You simply set-up each end to suit the device it is connecting to. There is no handshaking - it is in essence a 3-wire wireless connection.
