General purpose RS232 serial port IO controller board featuring 8 relay outputs and 4 opto-isolated inputs for use in  a wide variety of control and sensing applications including load switching, external switch input sensing, contact closure and external voltage sensing.

Eight relay outputs (can be increased to 16 if you use two 3108 units and our upgrade kit Order Code 3108U). Each relay is capable of switching 5 amps, 230V max (see Relay Data Sheet).

Four 5-24Vdc opto-isolated digital inputs.

Housed in a high quality plastic enclosure with detachable screw terminal block connectors for all IO connections.

Can be controlled using simple ASCII text based serial protocol or our free Windows 3.1/95/98/ME/W2K/XP software (details below).

Software

New easy-to-use Windows program (see the picture above) that runs on all versions of Windows from 95 to XP is now available, making this controller easy for even a novice user to use. You can set the inputs and output in real time with ease. Download the software by clicking here.

Alternatively, user written batch file programs can easily be made to control the kit using simple text commands. See documentation for examples.

This unit can be used with ANY computer and operating system. NO special software is required other than a terminal emulator program (built into Windows 3.1 onwards as Terminal or HyperTerminal). Or use our free Terminal program.
