3069 - Single 'PIC'n Roll' LED Dice Using PIC 16C54
We
have bought one of the most popular electronic kits ever devised right up
to date by using a single PIC 16C54 microcontroller to replace the old logic
and display drivers.
It is a neat example of how microcontrollers are used in modern electronic
designs to simplify assembly and reduce costs.
The PIC is supplied pre-programmed and the complete, fully commented,
software code used (plus the public domain assembler program from Microchip)
is also available for you to study and learn from, making this kit an excellent
introduction to using and programming microcontrollers. Ideal teaching project.
After pressing the 'start' button, a number between 1 and 6 is displayed
on a 7-segment LED display.
