Control
the speed of almost any common DC motor rated up to 100V/7.5A without sacrificing
motor torque.
The circuit uses an NE556 IC with adjustable speed control to pulse-width modulate a IRF530 MOSFET. This set-up gives maximum motor torque at all speeds.
The controller board requires a 9-18V dc power supply; the motor supply can be taken from the same power supply for motors in this voltage range. Motors outside this voltage range will need to have an independent power source (see documentation for full details). Potting box provided (board sits on top).
PRODUCT SELECTION NOTE: The motor controller should have an output load capacity at least 25% above the motors peak power requirement. Please do NOT rely on motor rating plates for power consumption figures as they often quote average not peak power. You should verify the actual peak power at start-up and under full load before selecting an appropriate size motor controller.
